by the riverside

when there is too much to bear
when am burdened with a load of care
by myself am always there
to draw in the flagrant air

there;where the river whispers so softly
where there is a steady splash of water
where the noise of the cascade's downpour isn't deafening
there;the dead leaves whisper under my feet

even when the sun disappears in the woods
and it becomes so dull and gray
i hear the buzzing of insects
and the singing of birds calm my frayed nerves

as the river gently flows
i mull over life's deathly blows
as the sun dimly glows
i think of memories so distant

there i feel so safe
because my mind doesn't wander
there is nature's awesome wonder
there am so divine
because everything is mine
